Mazdaspeed3 aims to beat track record at the 'Ring - Autoblog

Pro driver with no prior experience at the 'ring got 8.39 out of a bone stock MS3. (same lap time as an NSX!) they are coming back to take an attempt at the lap record for their class. they will need to find 4 seconds, which I think is doable given the driver's unfamiliarity with the track. im pretty impressed.

good time. pretty damm ugly car tho. some of them bikers were going well for on the nurb

Known as the MPS3 or Mazda 3 MPS here in Australia (and Europe). They aren't the prettiest cars around but they are quite quick. With the stock exhaust all you can here is a kind of jet/whistle noise! I'd love one as a daily driver! they did quite well in the Mt Buller Sprint beating a lot of much more fancied cars.
