Default McRae replaces Loeb in Citroen

For the rest of the season Colin McRae/Nicky Grist will replace Sebastien Loeb in the Cronos Xsara WRC till the end of the season, while Loeb recuperates from a busted arm.

...from the spectators point this is great news. Not so good for the teams budget.

McRae is an awesome driver, a spectacular driver which there isn't much of these days. I believe he can be just as fast but it will be interesting if he can be consistent.

But it is a pity that Loeb is out.

Is it until the end of the season? I read that for the time being, it was just Turkey, but maybe more if Loeb doesnt recover sooner than that.
Anyway. I'm exceedingly excited! Mcrae, being one of my favourite drivers of all time, and all... Ok, not quite as much as Mikola and Vatanen, but very close.
Loeb needs a break from record breaking anyway. Its getting just a tad excessive. I realize its because of his sublime speed, skill, talent and all. But his only real competition comes from Gronholm. Where have all the big names gone? Sainz and Makinen have retired. Mcrae... well he just comes back every now and then. Burns.... oh how sad. Martin.... again, how sad.
Where's Delecour? Where's Panizzi on the tarmac? And what the hell is going on with Solberg!?

Delecour and Panizzi are the typical french rally driver: great on tarmac average on dirt and snow, not bad, just not has good has in the asphalt. And they are getting old too.

Solberg spends most of the times picking up the parts that have fallen of his Subaru...

I think Makkinen retired way too soon. And nowadays we only have Loeb, Gronholm, Solberg has great, consistent drivers, everyone else just comes and goes.

its sad, really.
I miss the sainz's, makinens, kankkunens and Auriols.
Oh Didier Auriol. Put him in a toyota, and he was home, comfortable and easily in the lead. I loved him for that. Also one of only 3 non scandinavians to win rally finland, I believe.
