Default Last record broken

Last Saturday Michael Schumacher broke the last standing record hold by the late Ayrton Senna, of 65 pole positions.

Asked about Senna’s record, Schumacher said: “It makes me proud. That is probably all I can say about it.”

When he broke the number of victories record (also held by Senna, I think) he broke down in the press conference and cried. When alive Senna and Schumacher had alot of fall downs and were big enemies on and of track with almost getting into a fist fight in ocasions.

And thats it, except for the "Youngest F1 one winner" and "most reliable rookie" (Alonso and Monteiro) he helds all the important records in F1.

Funny thing is, Senna was/is Schumachers greatest influence and idol

True, but when he got into F1 it was like cat and dog. It was because of that that Schumacher got a reputation as an arrogant prick.

seem to say that or think it when he is winning. Senna wasn't exactly modest about his skills either. I thnk that is why he ans Schu clashed, due to being very alike, both personality and driving style wise

What do you mean is a dirty driver? And Senna wasnt? Wasnt he the one who slowed down in a race so that Prost could catch him up just to throw him off the track? Or in one Japanese GP when he decided to crash in the first corner and take out other cars just because he wasnt happy w/ a change in rules of the FIA?

I think you are mistaken...

lol. Gotta love people who have no idea haven't followed the sport for a long time. Senna was one of the most arrogant, dirty drivers, but then again, back in those days, a lot of drivers were.

Yeah, and like Schumacher, when He started in F1, he was using a full manual gearbox. Lots more skilled

I got lots of articles writen about Schumacher by Domingos Piedade (Director of AMG the guy who found Schumacher) and theres lots of funny stuff about him before he started racing: how he used to own a tricked out Audi 80, how he started racing, and stuff. His first race was with Jordan, and he was asked if he ever been in Spa (racing) and he answered yes (but as a spectator) and had to take a lap on a bicicle to find out the circuit and still qualified 6th.

He is also immensly talented, but since cars have developed so much that it isnt that obvious.

Senna was godly. Arrogant, aggressive, yes. But amazingly skilled. The argument of who is the best driver ever in F1 inevitably comes down to Fangio, Senna, and Schumacher, but there are so many thigns to consider, and it is impossible to say one is better than the other. Prost-Senna was an amazing era, and Senna-Schumacher would have been some of the most spectacular racing ever. Schumacher is amazing, but there will always be a special place in my heart for Senna.
