Not true.
The TORSEN differential will automatically send more power to the axle with the MOST traction by design. This makes the car handle very neutrally because it will send more of the power to the rear axle when powering out of a corner. This eliminates much of the understeer normally associated with AWD vehicles.
A locked differential is stuck at a 50/50 torque split at all times and is less effective at putting the power where it needs to go.
I've owned a few Audi Quattros and I have a Jeep with locked diffs. The Audi is more fun to drive in the snow. The only thing it gives up to the Jeep is ground clearance.
