The short block in the 22B is the same block found in the early 90's USDM turbo legacy's and any Ver 1&2 and Type RA's. just bored out, like dazed said. And even WRX wagons had the same block until 98 just not forged internals. It had normal Ver3 STi heads and cams, which are the best flowing any JDM has had. The tranny is the same found in any pre-Ver3 Type RA. The only real unique parts besides the body and wheels where longer rear lateral links, halfshafts, fuel rail, ECU mapping, the Bilstien shocks. I'm not trying to take away from the legend of this awesome car. It wouldn't be difficult to build a replica 22B, but it would still never be a 22B.

No disrespect Dazed but ther is no such thing as an EJ20T or EJ25T or EJ22T. The closed deck block in the early STi's was an EJ20G, usdm turbo leggy, and 22b was EJ22G, the usdm STi is EJ257, the us WRX is EJ205 & 7, actually the 06 WRX's will have the EJ257 in them now so no more 2.0l WRX's in the US.
