A couple of my friends where actually racing in the One Lap America Event. One of the guys is from Charleston SC and he built an Ultima GTR 5.7 Chevy Supercharger with a G50-52 rear-end weighing in at 1800lbs @ 600hp. He blew up the engine though a week before the race so he had to withdraw. He used to race a 96 Lamborgini with the American Flag theme on it if anyone remembers that car.
Also my buddy in Columbia SC raced a Mid Priced Sedan Lancer Evo VIII with 711 hp. We finished 7th overall out of 93 cars and the WRX STI was in our same class too. We blew a Head Gasket and had to baby it around the rest of the remaining events to finish. Sucks cause we could have easily made it in the top 5 but shyt happens I guess. We did real well at VIR raceway but flatspotted a tire on the South Course going full speed into Turn 1 and locked the brakes up on the right front. After the 3 laps we brought it in and found air in the right front and here is what the tire looked like....
This was the car we entered into the race.....

. The car owner is a guy from the Chicago IL area which he runs AutoMotosports.com which specializes in 1G, 2G DSM's and Evo's. The car runs 10.11 @ 142 Mph on 1/4th mile with no Nitrious Pass. He got ahold of my friend which he races professionally all around the world pretty much with Star Mazda , P1 Cars , GT3 , GT2 , GT1, Formula Cars, and so on. I actually met him one day at a Track day Ferrari Meet which Ferrari of Washington Showed up but Derek Bell had to back out cause of an oil leak on his GT1 Volvo. A few other pics of the track day ...
