aerodynamics come into play on any car above roughly 65mph. The best way to increase front downforce is to reduce the amount of air traveling under the car by adding a deeper chin spoiler, to which you can affix a splitter. The splitter should be roughly twice as long as your ground clearance. In otherwords if you have 4" of ground clearance you should have approx. a splitter with an 8" chord.
Canards wont really do much until you clean up the rest of the airflow over and more importantly UNDER the car.
