well first the tranny is a 4 speed auto tranny some with a lock up torque converter, i don't recall ever seeing an aftermarket company that makes a 5 speed for it but you can do the swap yourself.

a buddy has a monte carlo ss that he swaped everything from an iroc camaro into his monte and it works fine. you just need a doner car for all the parts for the swap.
