Did you tear the engine down or let it go as is? If the piston was busted..chances are good the block needed some work if not replaced all together. I went to the site but unfortunally didn't see it listed...I could've over looked it too........Do you know IF the truck has been repaired at all?(was the body straight..ever wrecked...flood damage etc.... ;-)

1542 is a gorgeous shade of super-dark blue. but it was done by amateurs. so, good color, bad paint job. they didn't take the bed off to get to the back of the cab, and it was wet sanded through to primer in a spot or 2.
1962- i left the motor alone. i had the heads and turbo rebuilt/replaced, and had a ton of money in that project alone. with a baby on the way, i couldn't justify spending another nickel on that. when i took the salesman on a ride in the sy, i got into the turbo a little bit, and when we got back, it sounded like it had just munched a lifter. when i was in there recently,
they told me it had a hole in the piston. before i bought it, it had been repainted-really badly. like sub-Maaco quality. and someone hacked in a sun roof. the turbo shop that did the heads/turbo managed to set the carpet on fire via stereo wiring (?), so there's a hole burned behind the seat.
it's not listed on the web page because it's back on the 'lot of shame' with the beater Celebrities and forgotten Sunbirds.
