my father told me a story about (and yes, our father's all had that "when I was your age" story) a guy in his high school that did that same sort of thing. This wasn't with a tow strap tho, it was with a chain. It snapped as he slammed tension onto it, and came right thru the rear window of his mom's International Scout. He also, said that it hit the dash (steel dash), so hard that it put a hole right in it that went almost thru the firewall.....imagine if that had hit his head......ouchie.

Did it have the steel hooks? at 1:14 into the video the strap looks like a loop style. Anything will break with enough force, and some twitt trying to bang a jeep stck to the frame is definitly enough force to snap a 10,000# strap.

its a shame to see that there was a winch there and just not enough know how to get the thing out... its a shame to see people with an expensive tool and no clue how to use it.

That's what I thought too, imagine if it did have a hook then! it would have gone through the front window, dragged the truck about 35 feet until it hit a rock, flipped over, and exploded.
