So my understanding is that the
world record for a supra is 1622 rwhp (w/ 40 psi boost and a 250 shot of N20). That car was tuned to the nth degree for the purposes of claiming that record for that dyno run.

So you are telling me that the shop you are working at is building a supra that has
180 rwhp more, and if that werent enough to make us impressed, its "wkend driver" car too.... what shop do you work at and who's car is this?
Supras have great reliability but lets not get too carried away here... Peter Blach sets the "stock bottom end record" with this 900 rwhp run back in the day (never mind the fact that it was never raced in that configuration and was just for the purposes of claiming the title) and then all of a sudden, its common knowledge that all stock bottom end supras can take 900 hp, drive every day in traffic to the grocery store, and last 100K miles of racing with nothing more than oil changes every 3k miles...
And while on the topic of "handling" 800 hp on stock bottom end. Define "handle" for me - do you mean for one run at this power level on the dyno? Or actually being to endure the stress of racing for more than a couple of passes? I suspect its the former....
