1969 German Grand Prix - This was the last Grand Prix to be run on the Nordschleife in the old format - i.e. narrow, with no armco barriers!

You'll notice Bruce McLaren on the podium, it was to be his last German Grand Prix, he lost his life less than one year later in a crash at the Goodwood Circuit, driving a Can-Am car.
Here is a photo of Bruce on that 1969 German Grand Prix. His legacy still lives on with the McLaren F1 team.
