^^No the cobra 03/04 was NOT cheaper in any way than an SS OR WS6 equpied LS1 car, the fbody was upper 20's and a cobra couldn't be had for less than 33-34k sometimes even more depending on the consumer wants in a certain demographic area. Any why do you say my buying a civic as a dd is a bad move?? Smart move IMO.....it saves gas, costs less(paid 500 bucks for it) keeps miles off the camaro, and it makes me appreciate driving the camaro more when I do drive it. Since November of 2007 I have only put 3,2xx miles on the camaro, now I have a 2001 car w/ 80k miles, not that bad IMO either. If you DD your stang, good for you, people buy cars to drive them, but I bought mine to drive/mod/conserve it. Different strokes for different folks. and you also need to get your fact straight about the camaro/ t/a. : if you got a car equipped w/ NON z rated tires from the factory it was speed limited to 121 mph, nothing that a simple tune didn't take care of, and the Z rated tire equipped cars were limited to 158mph ( well above any comparable stang) and w/ tuning and depending on the gearing it came w/ stock, speeds of 178 mph have been achieved. I t WAS not because they had 16" or 17" rims differences. I too looked at a GT stang in the year 2000 and drove it 1st : 5 speed GT loaded: good upright eating position, comfortable, shifter sucked, power or lack there of was BS. 2nd that day I drove a 2000 Z/28 that was loaded w/ leather and t-tops all power options and it was actually sticker priced $2300 cheaper than the stang: driving position was a tad low and hard to see the front of the car when parking, shifter was smooth ( stock hurst ) and the power output was a night and day difference between the 2 cars....THAT is what sold me. True gear heads don't give 2 shits about small things in cars like seating and what not.....the power was there for the fbody, not there w/ the stang......fbody was my clear choice. Hell I used to think that driving my mothers 1993 5.0L LX was the heat and it was fast...LOL...maybe back then, but getting out of that and into my car now is like hell to heaven.
