Default Re: Ford Shelby GT500 Twin Turbo

1st- Yes there is a large chunk of consumers that are women who generally buy the V6 Mustang, but who cares it selling, that's the MAIN POINT and is still around.
2nd- Sorry your incorrect about the plant issue. I followed very closely when GM announced it's clouser. To close the plant GM SPECIFICALLY had to prove to the CAW (Canadian Automobile Workers Union) and our government that there was NO MARKET for the car PERIOD.
The province of Quebec/ Canada had offered to substaized (as do US States) the auto plant to stay open, GM declined period.
This may shock you, but I'm was not happy when they discontuined the car, but that's what happened.
3rd- I think you did not understand me.
True you can make anything go fast if you dump enough cash into it.
Now I dont expect everyone to do what I do, for me and am sure the overwhelming people on this site 1st want a nice car, whatever it maybe. Then dump some cash into it to make it go faster, all along keeping it able to be used as a daily driver.
I personally can afford a new Mustang, Camaro, Challenger next year.
Or I can take that cash and make my ride way faster,
Or sell it and buy an Integra to go around schooling V8's (even thou i'll have multiple headaches doing so and the car will probably get 100mi per tank of gas and not be street legal).
See the point.
Anyone reading this can make there choice, my choice is having a New car every 4 years.
It's nice to see 1000RWHP V8's but thats it.
I've never based by choice of vechile on its ability to make insane HP, with big time "x" dollars.
4th- Whatever you did to your ride, and have to drive a civic cause you cant afford or due not want to spend the cash on gas, IS NOT a very wise move in my opinion.
Believe me, I drive my Stang everwhere when winters out and if I KB it, thats not going to stop me. I didnt buy my ride to brag I got one and keep it in the garage.
5th- I wasnt trying to inform you of superchargers, just letting any one whos reading this, the HP gains compared to cost on Fords.

The camaro was not entirerly cancelled due to sales, it has a lot to do w/ the fact that the plant in canada had to be closed and that a new plant to build the car would have taken 3 years to build and costs into the billions, sorry thats the fact.

2nd: Yes MSRP can be thrown out the window once modding starts.....who cares what originally cost when a 50K stang w/ 15k in mods can be beaten like a fool by a integra w/ turbo(s) and the right set up for 1/3 the price or even less....besides YOU brought up the MSRP thingy anyways...doh!!!!

3rd: anyone w/ a brain knows that if you are dumping big $$ into a sports car/muscle car you will MOST LIKELY NOT daily drive the damn thing because it is a nightmare on gas and sometimes it loses a lot of street manors, that is why I have a honda civic as a dd beater car....not that my camaro is by any means a drag car or really fast for that matter, it just sucks up gas.

4th: you don't need to try to inform me w/ stats and such about kenny belle / whipple / vortec / procharger / magnacharger / APS / STS / or a number of any others, as I know all about FI and have helped install a few FI applications and am well aware of what they will do.
