Because until they do, they haven't done anything wrong. That is, unless they did have illegal mods, were blasting music too loud or doing burnouts.
I thought the cops's questions were funny. "Why would you have those mods unless you were going to street race?" They could basically ask anyone with any fast car the same question. Why would you buy a fast car unless you were going to street race? So if you have a car that can go over the speed limit, you must want to street race, right?
Thats a lot of fuel tax money for a questionable bust. California fuel is so damn expensive. And this is where the money is going?
And seriously, as its been said before, there are other, bigger, worse crimes they could be attending to.
There's really no excuse for illegal mods or breaking the law in any other way, though, so if they were breaking the law they should stop complaining.
