^ that is a common misconception. The LT1 makes most of it's peak TQ lower in the rpm range, infact the LS1 makes more TQ than the LT1 does all the way through the power band. Most people think that an LT1 will get out of the hole better than an LS1 because of that " seat of the pants TQ feel" from the LT1, not true when both cars are properly driven.
The impala in the video in not rated power wise the same as the LT1 in the camaro ( 94,95,96) that is. The camaro was 275hp LT1 then went up to 285hp LT1 whereas the impala LT1 was rated at 260(ish)hp through the 94-96 production run. I remember seeing one on HPTV and they did a stock dyno on a worn out project 94 impala SS....It made 18x rwhp bone stock. PUKE !!!
