couple things... was that a renault R5 (ie, le car) that came right after the 0 car on SS1?
also, i've gotta say Patrick Richard is a super nice guy. I got to talk with him for a while at the 2004 rally of the tall pines. (don't care for tom mcgeer so much though...) Subaru just recently pulled it's funding for Rally Sport Ontario, wether or not that affects how well funded Patrick Richard is remains to be seen, but with all racing, unless there are rules to cap spending, who ever has the most money tends to win.
That being said, open classes are important, i think, for the development of the sport. (i'm in the process of building a group 2 car. money and sponsers are difficult, so it's nice to see a variety of cars and classes).
