Default Re: Nissan R35 GTR runs 11.67

Wait a second Ukunt........ stock run is a stock run right?
When we debated the Stang vs STI on another thread and I point out the "tire factor" it was "tuff" for the USA manufacturer.
Now here the Jap manufacturer has apparently put on a restriction for what ever reason on the car, the STOCK test is invaild or misleading ?
HA..... just pointing it out to you, to show how SMART you sounded before.
I'm all for simple tweeks on vechiles to see what they can do Jap , German or USA cars.
Anyway, never heard of Jap cars limited to 112mph, but dont doubt it from your posts.
My guess if it were limited to 112mph, using the "120mph" manufacturer estimate, it probably hit that speed at the 1100ft mark, leaving 220ft left for it to accelerate, and would shave 3 to 4 tenths off the 11.67 sec 1/4mi time.

there is a difference between a car thts made for japan market and whats made for america and other countrys..as they have speed limiters..

EDIT.- it is speed limited as i thought.

Japanese GT-Rs are speed-limited for the street: As has been widely reported, unless it's driven on a preapproved racetrack, a stock Japanese-spec GT-R is limited to 180 kph (111.8 mph) with the factory settings. GPS sensors in the navigation system track vehicle position and communicate with the ECU. Try to exceed 180 kph, and a warning light will appear on the instrument panel. Only shutting the car off and restarting it will get the light to disappear.
