The Jags were certainly a good bit of gear. I can vaguely remember them racing at Bathurst, I was five at the time. I recall that they were wearing through oil coolers as they'd hit the ground over the bumps and pitlane speedhumps.
The year previous Tom Walkinshaw had tried to run the XJS in Group C guise but without much success. At Bathurst he was rear ended on the grid, not even getting a lap down.
