Ive never read that magazine either, since its readership are members of the SAE (society for automative engineer's), and not the general public... you have heard of SAE tho, right??? they set specifications and standards for the auto industry. i.e SAE hp ratings.
Totally off topic, but I noticed corvette as 1 of the 2 best engineered cars made last decade. Just goes to show that solid engineering isnt just about good marketing and buzz words like DOHC, vtec etc, but finding the optimal solution to solve a problem.
Back on topic, I dont think there is any comparison between Pantera, a defunct car maker, against bmw. Clearly bmw makes better
cars, but dont confuse that with the face that there is no logical reason to replace the ford motor with the bmw 540 from a cost or hp potential standpoint.
