Whats the problem of a de tomaso having a BMW engine? The more recent Guára uses BMW components and its based on the maserati barquetta.

De Tomaso is an Italian company owned by an argentinian, so i dont see the problem of using a german engine in it, and unlike the common idea, De Tomaso wasnt american, or owned by Ford, it only had a partnership so it could use its engines, the same ZF transaxle gearbox has the GT40 and be sold on the lincoln and mercury dealerships.
