With Full Metal Jacket, you can stop if after the "graduation" if you feel the need, because you've seen the good half of the movie. The vietnam scenes have some worthiness, but its only a so-so movie after boot camp. There is one memorable scene

A " If they run, they are VC. If they stand still, they are well disciplined VC"

Q "Do you ever hit women and children"
A "Sometimes"

Q " How do you shoot women, and children"
A " Easy, you just don't lead 'em so much"
