Default Re: Volvo Tragedy - He spend 9 years restoring it

That sucks

I used to work at a Chevy dealership and we had one mechanic that did the majority of our 'heavy' work. Heavy meaning engines and transmissions. He had a G-20 (3/4 ton) Conversion van on his lift for an engine change. He spent all morning getting it ready for the engine removal. Put it up in the air to drop the exhaust and then we all went to lunch.

When we came back to the shop, all you could see was the top and the passenger side of the van. One of the lift arms broke and the van fell very similar to the Volvo above, except that the part of the arm that didnt break cut a huge gash all the way up the driver's side of the van

It took 2 wreckers, one on each side, to lift the van up off of the lift. When our service manager called the customer, he informed them that they needed to come pick out their new van because their old one was totaled.
