Usually you have to kill the brain for a zombie to die - they'll still try to bite you if you decapitate them. What's kinda funny is that the original zombies were a haitian legend and weren't dead at all but were under a voodoo spell. I actually really really like the cold idea, with the zombies freezing for the winter so you could just pick them off as you go. And in defence of my caribbean island idea, how would the zombies know to find me there? it would be far enough away that they couldn't smell me.
