he could have an automatic transmission.. and it has soo much power.. that the gears are slipping and can't handle the power.. that happens sometimes..
if he had a standard tranny.. when he shifted into 2nd.. he could have shifted so hard, that the clutch couldn't "grab" the flywheel and was slipping. This can happen if the engine RPM's (flywheel) is going faster than the transmission (clutch) and they don't "grab."
This could be fixed with a much stronger 6 puck clutch or even a 4 puck.. with ALOT of clamping force.
