The 300z is very reliable if it was taken care of(rarely) The parts are so expensive that most people that bought thenm could not afford to maintain them and therefor many are pieces of junk. They are very expensive to maintain, especially if you are not doing it yourself. Judging by the questions you are asking, I would not recomend a 300Z. No offense. They are just very hard to work on even for an experienced tech. My best friend has one with about 550hp, but he is the Master Tech at the local Nissan Dealer.
240's are great cars, but as with any car it is only as good as the care that was taken of it. Usually, buy a cheap one and get crap!
