It really depends on if you are looking at standard cars or not. Standard for standard the GT3 is a superior car on the track but clearly it is 3 times the price. An Australian Import magazine recently compared the 996 Turbo and an R34 GTR and found the 996 to be the vaslty superior car. Once Mods come into it the GTR will usually leave the prosche standing. They are more easily and vastly more cheaply modified. A GTR with very few mods can run Mid 11's and most lap receords in Aust held by road going cars (road tyres etc) are held by modded GTR's and many run faster times than race prepared GT3's. So like I said it really comes down to what you are comparing. AS most GTR run in moddified trim and few GT3's rnning on the street run many mods for me when it comes to 1/4 mile I would place the cold hard on the GTR.
