The 2000 Cobra R had the 5.4 with 4 valve heads, dual overhead cams, the 5.4 "triton" truck motors did not (SOHC 2-valve). That's sort of like a kitty to a lion...same species...very different. LOL. And I'm pretty sure that's the only mustang to come from the factory with a 5.4L overhead cam 'modular' motor, other than the new fatty Shelby .

And the 5.4 has the exact same size bores as the 4.6, just a longer stroke. 3.55 vs 4.1x or somewhere around there. The 5.4 also has a taller deck height for that extra stroke.
