^^ It's a French guy. He's a big fan of the Skyline and a regular visitor of the GTROC forums. Ask him self how he costume built the engine.
Actually the costume built Merc V12 engine isn't that much heavier then the standard RB26. The smart part is he mounted the engine lower and a few inches back to composate the 50/50 weight distribution. Other words you can say the car is a perfect ballanced front to mid engine 4 wheel steering ATTESSA AWD extreem performance high powered road race car. Special edition Enzo, modified Ultima GTR or even Veyron on race track would be a piece of shit comparison to this GTR.
He picked the V12 engine because of the reliability. A standard RB26 engine would require an amount of PSI of boost and RPM to achieve 1000 horsepower from just 2.6 litre displacement which mean that would cause alot of stress to the engine on longer endurance race. From my guess the costume built V12 engine with 4 turbos would only need between 8 or 12 PSI and revs to maybe only 8000 RPM to get the same 1000 horsepower. For the endurance race that would be alot more reliable.
The inline RB26 engine has the best performance and reliability between 600 - 700 horsepower.
