As for reliability, it also plays a big role into who owns it. I know tons of dsms in town that run everyday without a major problem b/c the owner takes meticulous care of it. If you neglect any motor, regardless of make, it's going to go out on you. Just b/c it's a dsm doesn't mean that it's mechanically prone to fail. Fact is most of the cars were owned by pansies who drove them hard and never did any ritual maintanance to them and once a tuner got their hands on them crap started to go wrong and hence the jackstand warrior stereotype. I've had 2 dsms and once I caught the car up on maintanance they were extremely reliable cars.
