Stock to stock? I dont think so. Weight (or lack of) contributes hugely to track performance, but I dont think you are giving enough credit to the 350's strengths over a Civic. Far wider powerband, more peak power, RWD, better brakes, softer compound, wider tires, better aero etc etc. Its a faster car, and for the extra cost, I think you should expect it to be too.

Look at how SCCA groups stock class civics compared to 350z's: 99-00, 02+ civic si's are in H-Stock, which means that they are deemed to have parity with the likes of Geo Metros, the Ford Focus, Hyundai Accent and the Toyota echo.

The 350Z is in B-Stock, Porsche 911 Carrera 2's, BMW M-coupes, and Toyota MR2 turbos.
