I'd say the RX7 would be cool, but try finding a mechanic who knows anything about rotaries...The 3000GT VR4 is bad ass, lots of potential for power, awesome grip, kinda the underdog of the tuner world (no one respects them), but their expensive, and heavy. And apparently have reliability problems

300ZX's are fast but heavy which hurts handling. The Mustang, more of a chick car than anything. Be it chicks like to drive it, or chicks like guys who drive it. But the GT is unimpressive, 260hp in the years you want, IIRC. My friend's 95 can barely outrun my Jeep Cherokee. The Cobra is cool, but unless you can afford the 02 with Supercharger, get a Camaro or Firebird. They've almost always been faster when you compare Z28 vs GT and SS vs Cobra. The only time in recent history a Mustang has been faster than a Camaro is in the V6 model and what's the point of them? Camaro vs Firebird is personal preference. The Camaro is quicker, but the Firebird is faster. I think the Camaro's just a little lighter, but I like the look of the Firebird, especially if you can get an exposed headlight conversion like they do on the SLP Firehawk. And BTW, the Camaro/Firebird engine is exactly the same. Up til about 97-98 it was the LT1, lots of power to be had. After that, it was the LS1, also, lots of power to be had.
