They rate it 1.3 liters because only one rotory is operating at a time and that space in that rotary is 1.3 liters but if you combine the liter size of both rotaries, guess what !! 2.6 liters. We dont say a 5.0 liter motor is only 2.5 liters because only half of the pistons are firing at once . Why do you think they call the 2 rotor and the 3 rotor both 1.3 liters. The way they figure their math is messed up and it is a 2.6 liter when a 2 rotor and a 3.9 liter when it is a 3 rotor no matter what they "rate" it at. Why do you think the 3 rotor cars have to race in the 4 liter classes?
you, my friend, are WRONG, my 1.3 liter 13B is a 2-rotor, the 12A in the 1st gens are 1.2 liters, and are 2 rotors, the 20B is 2.0 liters and is 3 rotors....who the hell told you this? and in all motors, regardless of pistons or rotors, the liters is the internal VOLUME of the combustion chambers or housings......i'll bet u drive a Civic
