If the fire was hot enough at the WTC to weaken the support beams, then it was enough to melt and destroy just about everything that wasn't forged steel:
Steel melts at 1500°C (2700°F).
Jet fuel produces a maximum temperature of approximately 1000°C (1800°F)
1800°F will melt pretty much everything, even some glass will melt at this temperature.
Forged steel will not, but it will glow red and bond to other pieces of metal once cooled.
