The acronym LSD stands for Limited Slip Differential. In laymens terms it means each wheel should recieve the same amount of torque, all depends on what type of LSD it is.

That is why both wheels are spinning, and hence the reason the car is 'skating' around once the car takes off and is accelerating. If it didnt have an LSD it would only spin one wheel and would not 'skate' around and would result in a slow qtr mile time.
